Meaning ‘union’ or ‘whole’ – yoga is the oldest living science of the mind and body and has been practiced in various forms for thousands of years.

Today, modern yoga in its various forms is practiced by millions of people all over the world.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ type of yoga and contrary to popular belief you do not have to be flexible or a gymnast to access the benefits of yoga.

Our brand new innovative reformer yoga class combines the strength of pilates and the fluidity of yoga using spring resistance. This is only available exclusively at Physiyolates and is the result of years of research and development in elite sport using our trademarked Integrated Structural Fitness Method®.

Approach & Objectives

At Physiyolates we are interested in the health benefits of yoga as this area is now subject to more clinical research. Recent studies suggest that regular yoga sessions may reduce lower-back pain and improve function. Other studies also suggest that regular yoga (as well as other forms of regular exercise) can improve quality of life; lower blood pressure; reduce stress; help relieve anxiety, depression, and insomnia; and improve overall physical fitness, strength, and flexibility.

In professional sport, there is a growing database of evidence demonstrating how and why yoga works to prevent injury and improve athletic performance. Physiyolates has contributed to this evidence by carrying out active research within elite level professional sport and has worked with many top level professional athletes who endorse the benefits of this work.
